Every time Apple releases a new iPhone, I feel as anxious and excited as the day I received my first device back in 2007. Since then, I've had the opportunity to try different models, live with them, and discover hundreds of tricks that have improved my daily experience. In this digital age, getting the most out of our iPhones is essential, and I want to share some tips based on my experience. Let's get started!
1. Optimize your battery

For a long time, I struggled with the frustration of running out of battery before the day was over. I've learned that optimizing battery life is key. First, turn on Low Power Mode; it helps a lot when you're struggling with a low percentage. To turn it on, go to Settings > Battery and select Low Power Mode .
Another recommendation is to always update to the latest version of iOS, as Apple is constantly improving energy efficiency, especially in newer models like the iPhone 17 .
2. Manage your storage

I once ran out of space while recording an important video. It was a painful lesson. Now, I check my storage regularly. You can do this in Settings > General > iPhone Storage . There you can prioritize the apps or content you really need.
For those looking for a device with more capacity, the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers generous storage options that avoid these awkward situations.
3. Use Night Mode to Protect Your Eyesight
Spending a lot of time in front of a screen can be tiring for your eyes. Night Mode reduces eye strain by changing the screen to warmer tones after sunset. Activate it in Settings > Display & Brightness .
In my experience, it has become indispensable, especially when I'm on my iPhone at night, whether it's the used iPhone 13 Pro Max or the latest model.
4. Customize your Siri Shortcuts
Siri has improved dramatically over the years. You can create custom shortcuts to simplify everyday tasks: open Settings > Siri & Search > My Shortcuts . I've automated actions like launching playlists in Apple Music or sending recurring messages, which makes my day-to-day life much easier.
5. Take advantage of Accessibility Features
Many people don't know that Apple offers amazing features in Settings > Accessibility . One of my favorites is VoiceOver, which provides descriptions of what's on the screen—useful when driving or when your hands are busy.
You probably already use a newer iPhone, such as the iPhone 16 , which offers even more features for an optimized experience.
6. Quick Unlock with Face ID and Touch ID

While it might seem obvious, taking the time to properly set up Face ID or Touch ID makes a big difference. They're quick and secure ways to access your device and apps. I found them especially useful on my refurbished iPhone 13 when using a passcode was unbearable.
7. Configure Custom Widgets
In iOS 14, Apple introduced widgets, one of my favorite features. You can set them up from your home screen by long-pressing on an empty space. This gives me quick access to essential apps.
This functionality has become even more important with the latest models, such as those offered in GSMPro's iPhone collection .
8. Protect your data with iCloud and backups
Losing photos and contacts was once a nightmare. Now, I trust iCloud to keep my important data safe. You can check your backup in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup . One small step to secure your memories.
9. Use Apple Maps for Quick Explorations

Though sometimes underrated, Apple Maps is a fantastic tool for discovering new places. I've found restaurants and alternative routes thanks to its recommendations. And on iPhones like the refurbished (CPO) iPhone 13 Pro , the app is more accurate and faster thanks to the latest hardware updates.
I hope these tips are helpful for you in your daily use of your iPhone. Every feature and setting can significantly improve the user experience. Do you have any special techniques you use on your device? Let me know in the comments! For more information and amazing models, visit GSMPro .
